Mrs. Carrie Belle Cochran, 71, of 37 2nd Ave., Judson, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday at a local hospital after two years declining health and a day of serious illness. Born in Franklin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Fannie Andrews Murphy. Mrs. Cochran had made her home in the Judson Community for the past 21 years, having come to Greenville from Franklin County 27 years ago. She was a member of Judson Pentecostal holiness church and of the Bible Class of the Sunday School. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church. Her husband, the late James L. Cochran, died Dec. 19, 1955. Mrs. Cochran is survived by five daughters, Mrs. L. T. Cleveland, Mrs. Fannie Duncan, Mrs. Josie Smith, Mrs. Margaret Albright and Mrs. Mary McClanahan, all of Greenville; six sons, J. P. Cochran, Theo Cochran and B. W. Cochran of Greenville, Roy Cochran and R. B. Cochran of Anderson and Charles Cochran of Greenwood; five sisters, Mrs. Mertie Seymour, Mrs. B. F. Sewell and Mrs. Willard Barrett of Greenville, Mrs. Hurbert Massey of Toccoa, GA. , and Mrs. Inez Cape of Carnesville, GA.; three brothers, Lee Murphy,J. C. Murphy and Reeves Murphy of Greenville; 33 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral plans will be announced by the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.
