Fairfax Washington (1778-1861) married in Frederick County, Va. in 1798, Sarah Armistead (1776-post1850) who was raised in Gloucester County, Va. They moved in 1806 to near Elkton, Ky. Their nine children were William Armistead (1800-87)(unm), Warner, IV (1801-80), Mary Carter (1802-1867:72), Anne Cleve (c1804-73), Charles Carter (1805-d.inf), Fairfax, Jr. (1806-78), George (1808-d.yg), Louisa Fairfax (1810-81:83)(unm), and Sarah Virginia Washington (c1811-81)(unm). Three others died young.
