Mrs. Annamarie (Henneberg) Schwartz, 89, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at
Quincy Village.
Born August 5, 1933 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude (Uhlig)
Henneberg.
She graduated from Luther Institute High School in Chicago, IL with the class of 1952.
She and her husband of over 68 years, Mr. Clayton J. Schwartz, were married March 7, 1954, at St. Paul's
Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Savannah, GA.
Annamarie's proudest accomplishment was raising her four loving children who cannot thank her enough
for being the most amazing mother and role model. She served most of her working life in secretarial
roles, ultimately retiring as an executive administrative assistant in the pharmaceutical marketing
industry. Although she was born and lived most of her life in the USA, her German-born parents brought
the family back to Germany to visit relatives during the unfortunate timing of WWII, where unforeseen
circumstances prevented their return to the states for ten years – so she grew up in WWII Germany from
the ages of 5 to 15. A few years after returning to America, while working for Clayton's father, she met
Clayton on a date while he was home on leave from the Air Force. Six weeks later they were wed,
beginning their 68-year journey together.
Annamarie had a great love of travel both near and far, making many trips within the American territories
and Germany. She was a very active member of the Lutheran church her entire life, with Solomon's
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chambersburg being her most recent congregation. She loved
volunteering for church duties, being a member of the Chambersburg Quilt Guild, participating in the
Quincy Village Needlers group, and volunteering at the Quincy Gift and Thrift Shops. In her twenty-four
years living in Quincy Village, she derived great pleasure from participating in all sorts of church and
village activities and social events, and made some of the best friends of her lifetime.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children: Jeanine M. Davis, spouse Glen R. Davis,
Hendersonville, NC; Karin A. Scribner, spouse Kevin D. Scribner, Brunswick, ME; Beverley L. Wall,
spouse Edward R. Wall, Mechanicsville, VA; and David C. Schwartz, Reston, VA; grandchildren Joshua,
Shannon, Sean, and Rachel; great-grandchildren Katelyn, Braylon and Leon; sister-in-law Jane
(Schwartz) Ott, spouse Richard Ott, and nieces Aline, Diane, and Sharron (Ott), and Erika and Carolyn
(Schwartz).
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her brother Henry Henneberg, Jr., and nephew Carl
Schwartz.
A family visitation at 10:00 A.M. and memorial service at 11:00 A.M. will be held Friday, August 26,
2022 at Solomons Evangelical Lutheran, 4856 Wayne Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17202, with Reverend

"Hess" Room located in the Minnich Commons building, 1000 Wesley Drive, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
