CAROL L. DELSIGNORE — NEW CREEK — Carol Lee Del Signore, 87, left her earthly home in New Creek, W.Va., to enter the glorious kingdom of God on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022.

Carol was born June 8, 1935, to Edward Thomas and Elsie Mae Klipstein at their home in Lonaconing.

Her parents raised Carol according to Biblical principles and imparted the values of family, hard work, perseverance, and humility. Carol loved growing up in the small coal town of "Coney" and remained active in her church, community, and school. After graduating from Central High School in 1953, she held several jobs; however, Carol's true desire was to marry and start a family. In 1960, she married Robert P. Del Signore from New Creek, and together they raised six children and operated a dairy farm there.Carol created a humble home filled with both discipline and laughter. Carol easily made others laugh with her dry perspectives, but she could laugh at herself, too. In addition to all of the chores, she gathered the children around the piano to sing or read stories to them, as she herself was a voracious reader who visited the library regularly. Carol also loved nature. From her armchair, she watched programs about exotic wildlife. In her own yard, she enjoyed caring for the fish in the fishpond and calling to the many birds at their feeders. Carol could grow almost anything, and she was often seen in her yard or on her front porch tending to her abundant flowers. Carol also worked outside the home in various service jobs in Keyser, W.Va., including the Potomac Motel and Heartland Nursing Home. In all positions, Carol became a leader because of her work ethic, integrity, and consideration for others. Never did her family hear an unkind word about their mother. Retirement in 1999 left Carol more time to spend with her growing family. She showed her grand- and great-grandchildren unconditional love and always offered encouragement and wisdom. Carol also felt blessed to have loving daughters- and sons-in-law. Devotion to her family came naturally, and they adored her. Carol always put others first, and with such a modest and self-less soul, she never realized what an extraordinary person she was or how her warm - but strong - spirit would leave an indelible imprint on the hearts of all who knew her.

Carol was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert; her parents; an infant sister, Lois, and two brothers, John E. and James Klipstein.

Surviving are her children, Robert Mark Del Signore (Vickie), New Creek, W.Va.; Denise Holmes (John), Inwood, W.Va.; Lorie Del Signore, Moorefield, W.Va.; Anthony Del Signore (Marie), Keyser; Karen Whitlock (Brent), Louisa, Va.; and John Del Signore (Amy), Keyser. Also missing her greatly are 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a younger brother, Melvin Klipstein (Anna), of Frostburg; six special nieces and nephews on her family's side; a caring, extended family on her husband's side; and many friends.

Carol will be buried next to her husband in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser, Aug. 16, 2022, in a private service by Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to New Creek Volunteer Fire Department, 3628 New Creek Highway, New Creek, WV, 26743.

Carol's family also expresses gratitude for the angelic nurses and aides from WVU Medicine Hospice, Keyser.
