Peter Bisland was born in Adams Co., Mississippi in 1789; the son of John Bisland (of Glasgow, Scotland) and Susanna Rucker Bisland (of Virginia.)He was educated in Glasgow, Scotland. He married Barbara Foster on December 12/20/1807 in Adams Co., Mississippi and had nine children. He died in 1829 after a brief illness. He is buried in the Bisland Family Cemetery at the old location of Mount Airwell Plantation in Adams Co., Mississippi.
