Thomas James Fletcher 1974 - 2021
San Diego, CA—Thomas James Fletcher, 47, of San Diego, CA., formerly of Rochester, IL., passed away of natural causes on September 20, 2021 in San Diego. He was born on April 28, 1974, in Phoenix, AZ., the son of James and Barbara (Carswell) Fletcher. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1992 and joined the United States Marine Corp. While in the Marines he traveled the world. Among his many different deployments, his squadron shipped out on the USS Theodore Roosevelt to the Persian Gulf shortly after 9/11. After leaving the Marines 2002 he worked primarily as a military aviation contractor in Maryland and California.
Preceding him in death is his father, James Fletcher, and his maternal grandparents, Tom and Ruth Carswell of Rochester and paternal grandparents, Clarence Fletcher and Elzora Howard of Indiana.
A private service with military honors was held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL. on September 9, 2022.
