SIDNEY G. BURNS - Thursday - November 11, 2004

Chelan Falls - Sidney G. Burns, 82, a fifty-four year resident of the Lake Chelan area, died Sunday, November 7, 2004, at his home. He was born June 9, 1922, at Cowgill, Missouri, the son of A.D. and Sarah Ann (Lile) Burns. He attended school at Cowgill.
Sid was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 until his discharge, in 1945. Following his discharge, he returned to Missouri. On July 10, 1948, he was married to Josephine Clark at Kansas City, Missouri. For a time, he was employed as a lineman for Western Union. At this time he began coming to Manson on a seasonal basis to work in the orchards beginning with Harold Fort. Sid was also employed with Chelan Box & Mfg.
He continued with Chelan Box and Mfg. until the mill burned in 1969. From then until 1996, he was employed with Jim & George Wall Orchard.
Survivors include his wife, Jo of the home; one son, Sidney Gene of Domke Lake; three daughters, Linda Kay Wilson of Manson, Margaret Ann Hoover of Edmonds, Barbara Janeen Haynes of Marysville; and his grandchildren, Autumn Burns,
Derek Haynes, Ashley Wilson, Sierra Burns, Brent Guttmann, and Manson Hoover. He was preceded in death by a son,
Michael in 1996, and also three brothers and one sister.
A service of commemoration will take place on Saturday, November 13, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at North Shore Bible Church with Donn Plew officiating. Interment will follow at Fraternal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to North Shore Bible Church Building Fund or a favorite Charity. The casket will remain closed at the church. Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
