YAKIMA - Norma Nelson Denney, age 82, of Yakima, WA and Los Angeles, CA passed away January 24, 2008 with family and friends by her side. She was born November 22, 1925 in Burlington, WA. She married Robert John Denney in 1946, settling for a time in Riverside, CA later moving to Los Angeles and then to Malibu, CA. She moved to Naches, WA in 1990 and lived on the Naches River for many years prior to moving to Yakima, WA.

She worked at UCLA School of Medicine in the Physiology Department for 33 years, retiring in 1990. She was a part of the Executive Management Committee. She was a member and active volunteer for Soroptimist and Malibu Republican Club in California. Following her retirement and relocation to Washington she became a devoted volunteer at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop in Yakima and the Apple Valley Kiwanis. She was also an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

She led a very full and active life. She loved to make people smile and was a wonderful listener � everyone was her "good friend." She enjoyed celebrating everyone's birthday and achievements. She loved to entertain and cook. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places and making new friends. Her favorite times were those spent with family and friends.

Norma is survived by her son Patrick Shawn (Vickie) Denney of Yakima, WA, daughter, Kyleen Shandon (Joseph) Stoebenau of Sinking Springs PA, grandchildren Laura Denney, Jennifer Rodriguez and Jason Missick; one great-grandchild Miah Missick, her sister Arlene (Jerold) Rowe and many devoted in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews�and Ophie her cat. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tara Missick.

Norma will be more than a memory... She left a loving and lasting impression on everyone she met.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28th and 29th at the Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel, Yakima.
