According to Find A Grave contributor Deborah (Hoffman) Weiner, "It is believed that Anna Margaretha was born somewhere in Lancaster county, PA, perhaps in the area of Hempfield Twp., as that is where her father JOST MILLER was recruited during the Revolutionary War. An early record lists her and her sister Anna Maria, along with her father "Jost" Miller and mother Elizabeth, as being confirmed on May 19, 1793 (Pentecost). This rite took place at Wirth's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Upper Paxtang Twp., Killinger, Dauphin county. Her marriage in the year 1795 is approximate, with guesstimate being in Upper Paxtang Twp., and prior to the birth of her first child. Information on her family is found in the Commemorative Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin County, Pa., 1896, by Runk & Company, publishers, pg. 735: ...".Christian Zimmerman, maternal grandfather of G.W.D. Enders, was married to Miss Margaret Anna, daughter of Joseph Miller generally known as "Jost" Miller.....Mr. Zimmerman was a farmer by occupation, and both he and his wife are buried in the graveyard of Fetterhoff's church, of which they were active members". Anna Margaretha, along with husband Christian Zimmerman, were very active in Fetterhoff's congregation, where they became sponsors at numerous baptisms for their neighbor's children. Anna is at times referred to as "Greth" in these baptisms, and one can assume that this was a nickname for her. In the 1850 US PA census records Margaret is named as living in the household of her son John Zimmerman and his wife Lydia, of Jackson Township. She listed her age then as 73 years."
