David Leslie Jones, 83, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his sleep June 19th, 2020.
David was born in Kaysville, Utah on May 21st 1937 to Maud Tippets Jones and Frank Lane Jones. David was the sixth of Eight children. David was raised in Kaysville, Utah. He attended Kaysville Elementary, North Davis Jr. High and Davis High School. He was a member of The

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved being a ward missionary.

David had many health adversities in his life. When he was nine years old he contracted polio and spent two years hospitalized. With the help of the iron lung and physical therapy he overcame the disease. He was told he would not walk again as a result of the disease, with determination and hard work David walked again. David was known for his stubbornness and sheer determination.

David had a love for all things cars. Cars were his passion. He built a career centered around the things he loved, Cars! In his final months he would request car magazines be sent to him. He watched many programs during his stay in the assisted care home centered around cars. Every time we would talk to him he would say he needed to get out of the home and go buy some cars.

David married Bette Bishop Richey on November 22, 1955. From this union came five daughters, Beverley Jacobs (Alan), Vickie Hansen (Alan), Sherry Thompson, Susan Goldsberry (Brian), and Leslie Hohman (Rob). They later divorced.

David remarried Bonnie Houser and raised her two sons Jim Jones (Suzee) and Mike Jones (Candy), Mike preceded him in death. He provided a nice life for this family. They resided in Arizona.

David's daughters would like to thank David's loving friend Lyle. Lyle visited David every day and would bring him treats that he loved. We would also like to thank Sara, at the White Violet care center for the love and compassion she showed to David during his time there. We are so blessed you were taking such wonderful care of David. We love you both for your kindness and service.

David's life taught us many lessons. We hope and pray he has found his peace and has been received to our Heavenly Father with much mercy and grace. Thank you for giving us the gift of life. Because of this gift we have been given our families, they are our life.
