Owen Wilson Baker, 84, of Fulks Run, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Life Care Center in New Market.

Mr. Baker was born March 25, 1923, in Fulks Run, and was a son of the late William C. and Minnie Whetzel Baker.

He was a truck driver for C.S. Mundy Quarries and was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Fulks Run. He served in the Army during World War II from 1943-1946.

On Dec. 13, 1986, he married the former Bertha Ruth Brady Ritchie, who preceded him in death June 20, 1998.

Survivors include two stepsons, Glen Ritchie of Linville, and Raymond Ritchie Jr. of Luray; a brother, George Baker of Bergton; three sisters, Edith Strawderman of Bergton, Catherine Campbell of Luray and June Ritchie of Broadway, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Lewis Armentrout, The Rev. Joel Robinette and Jerry Shiflet will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Whitmer family cemetery in Fulks Run.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
