Geneva went home to the Lord on August 1, 2022 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 7, 1926 in Canton, Texas to Nolan Alexander Groom and Mary Ethel Smith Groom.

Geneva was a classy and sometimes sassy lady. She was a long time member of Wallace United Methodist Church. She was involved with the Eastern Star and Rebekahs, part of the Odd Fellows. Geneva married her true love, E. J. Sprague on May 24, 1944; they were married 73 years at his passing. She was an independent thinker who had fond memories of fishing with her mother. Geneva enjoyed traveling and going to the casino – Bossier City where she could eat shrimp and crab legs. This bigger than life woman loved time with family. Her biggest joy was eating apple pie with ice cream and watching Gunsmoke. Geneva loved the Lord and her family. She will be remembered in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.

Geneva is preceded in death by her beloved husband, E. J. Sprague; parents, Nolan and Mary Groom; brother, Marlin Groom; sisters, Hattie Foster, Alpha Lunsford, Edith Kirkland, Leona Wood, Wilma Chamblee and Margret Taylor.
