Body at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Services at Union Methodist Church near Gloster at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Carruthers officiating. Burial in Roseland Cemetery, Gloster.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wallace Byrd; two sons, Rodney Byrd, Gloster and Verlle [sic Verrelle] Byrd, Woodville, Miss.; four daughters, Mrs. W. C. Reynolds, Alexandria; Mrs. H. H. Hinton, Gloster; Mrs. L. R. Galloway, Baker, and Mrs. Ralph Voorhies, Baton Rouge; five sisters, Mrs. Wiley Seale, Mrs. Ida Poole; Mrs. C. W. Taylor, all of Gloster; Mrs. Sam B. Day, Gulfport, and Mrs. Theresa Covington, Clinton; a brother, Dudley Byrd, Smithdale, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
