Fred Ahlemann passed away on Friday July 29, 2022 at age 84. He was born in southern Indiana as the eldest son of Bill and Hilda Ahlemann on January 24, 1938. His elementary education was at Somerville and his High School was at Mackey, Indiana. He graduated from Oliver Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois with a BA degree in Philosophy and Religion. For several years Fred lived in Illinois and worked for Sears Roebuck & Co in the Kankakee and Champaign stores and in Chicago at the home office. Fred became a Staff Sgt. Of HQ Company, 33rd Infantry Div. of the Illinois National Guard. It was in Illinois where his children were born and adopted by him and his first wife, Bettie. In 1971 they moved to Beatrice, NE staying there two years then moving to Lenexa, Ks., where he began work with Western Auto. Fred and Karen (Stuffings) Collins were married in 1984 and were long time residents of Overland Park, KS. Fred's business experience in the KC metro area included time with Western Auto, Peerless Products, Inc., and more than 20 years in Real Estate, most of which was with Prudential Henry & Burrows. His passions included golf, crossword puzzles and all kinds of books. His activities included being a community leader as co-chair of the Cherokee Hills neighborhood group, Precinct Committeeman, President of the Public League Seniors of Kansas golf group and a Past Master of Overland Park Masonic Lodge #436. He received honors and recognition for his proficiency in Ceremonial Excellence at the lodge. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite and a Knight Templar with the York Rite. He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and a Stephen Minister. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen (Stuffings) Ahlemann and his son Fredrick Michael. Surviving him are his daughters Verna (Collins) McMullin(Chris) and Kathryn Miller(Stan), several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister Mary (Paul) Thompson and a brother Charles (Crystal) Ahlemann.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, August 13, 2022 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Olathe, Kansas. Graveside service will be 3 pm Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Littell Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 pm Friday, August 12, 2022 at St. Mark's.
