Appointed - Superintendant of Mower Co. Schools.
1872 -Elected Chicot Co., Arkansas Surveyor.

Arrangement with the American Missionary Association of New York and in 1870 acquired property and built a school for them which was to be used for the express purpose of educating all freedmen and children regardless of race or color.
