Mrs Ruth Tallman Fenner, widow of Jarmes R Fenner Sr. one of the old residents of Chautauqua county, died at her home this morning aged 91 years. She was born in Dutchess county, the daughter of John J & Sally Tallman, who came to this county when Mrs. Fenner was seven years of age. Mrs. Fenner taught in the Jamestown Public Schools when Professor Samuel G Love was superintendent. She was a member of the mother church, the First Church of Christ Scientist at Boston. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. T. I. Bordwell and a grandson Robert Bordwell of Buffalo. She was the 6th child of John & Sally Tallman and their 4th daughter.

She became the 2nd wife of James Robinson Fenner II. James was proprietor of a Shoe Store in Jamestown, NY. He had a son James Robinson Fenner III from his 1st marriage. After Mr. Fenner's death she made the house into a boarding home.

Before her marriage she was both a school teacher and principal in St. Louis from 1871-1875 living with her sister Maria and her husband Henry.

They are buried in the Fenner Family plot.
