Weiss, Lauretta Marie
WEISS Lauretta Marie Weiss, went peacefully to the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Visitation will be held at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS on Monday, January 28 from 5-7 p.m. where the Rosary will be said at 5 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 416 N. 14th St. Kansas City, KS. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery immediately following. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Altar Society.
Lauretta was born November 19, 1918 and was a lifelong resident of K.C.KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elizabeth, husband, Vincent, Sr.; brothers, Laurence, Joseph, Albert and Bernard; a sister, Charlotte Sandt; a granddaughter, Roberta Catron. She is survived by her sisters, Dorthy Baker, Mary Ann Porter and Jeanette Burnett all of K.C.KS,; sons, Vincent Jr. and wife Jan of Georgetown, TX, Paul and wife Donna, Olathe, KS; Richard and wife Cheri, Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Carol Bowling and husband John, Grand Island, NE; Janet Catron, K.C.KS; and Alice Norton, Eldorado Springs, MO. Lauretta also had 18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Her love and kindness will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Villa St. Francis, 16600 W. 126th St., Olathe, KS 66062 (Condolences expressed at: www.porterfuneralhome.com.
