ELIJAH THOMAS "Lige" CLAPP, b.1826, Greenbush, MA, d.1904, Greenbush, MA a son of Elijah Clapp and Harriet (Ford) of Greenbush, and husband of ANN ROSINI (CLAPP), who was his fourth cousin. As a wedding present his father built them a homestead behind the grist mill in Greenbush, both of which are still there as of 2014, no longer owned by the Clapp family.
In 1880 Elijah purchased the Stockbridge Mills from his father-in-law, Thomas Clapp, a cousin to his own Clapp line, who had purchased the Mills from the Stockbridge Estate in 1830 (Elijah's father, grandfather and great grandfather were millers and managers of the Mills for the Stockbridge family, and later his grandfather and father were the managers for their cousin Thomas Clapp). In 1888 Elijah Thomas Clapp inherited from his father the blacksmith shop, ice house and farmlands south of the pond in Greenbush. From the late 1860s to late 1880s, the three generations, i.e, "the Three Elijah's", were alive in Greenbush.
