Barbara Christine "Christy" Rose, 71, of Pekin, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at her home.

Born July 12, 1951 in Peoria to Donald Dean and Betty Lee (Gorline) Zobrist, she married Daniel John "Dan" Rose on March 11, 1994 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother of Pekin; four children, Julie (Shane) Freund, Dustin (Bridget) Falkingham, both of Pekin, Brad (Angela) Rose of Washington and Kristi (Eric) Vicary of North Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Cathleen Anne Howell and an infant brother, Denny Zobrist.

Christy thoroughly enjoyed her nursing career and worked at the Tazewell County Health Department as a Registered Nurse for 25 years. She had many stories about her years as a Tazewell County Jail nurse.

Christy was a member of the Tazewell County Retired Nurses Club.

Christy was very talented artistically. She enjoyed painting, creating wood burnings and seamstress work. She also loved being outdoors and gardening.

Her private graveside service will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
