Buford Ernest Bull was born September 29, 1899, in Scotland County, the second child of Ernest Guy and Myrtle Emily Eggleston Bull. He departed this life at 8 o'clock a.m., November 27, 1977, at his home north of Memphis, Scotland County, Missouri, where he was born and had spent his entire life. In the year 1919 Buford became a member of the Brock United Methodist Church. On February 15, 1921, he was married to Phoebe Hyde, daughter of Rueben Fletcherand Grace Southmayd Hyde of near Brock, Missouri, in the bride's home. Buford and Phoebe spent their entire lifes living and loving the land and animals. They became members of the Registered Angus Association several years ago and have helped several young people get a start in the cattle business. Though Buford and Phoebe had no children of their own they loved all children and helped to raise their motherless nephew and twin nieces. Buford leaves to mourn his death his beloved wife Phoebe; one sister Abbie Mae, a brother, Chandler H .; nephew, Stanley; nieces Carolyn Hinds and Marilyn Cowell; nephew Steve Morris and Arthur Hyde, Jr., all of Memphis; and nieces, Arlene Rutledge of Doug lasville, Georgia and Norma June Woods of Fairfield, Iowa; plus brothers and sisters-in-law; great nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and many friends and neighbors. Funeral services were conducted by D. W. Payne & Sons from their Memphis Chapel, Tuesday, November 29, 1977, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Neil Dubach officiating. Pallbearers were Richard Moore, Paul Drummond, Franklin Reed, John Aylward, Basil Humphrey, Archie Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Carson Hocker, Lonel Henderson, Usa Bissell, Clare Morgan, Emil Shelley, Milo Morgan. Organist was Mrs. Ann Luther. Singers were Mrs. Elmer Revelle and Mrs. Diane Revelle. Interment was in the Brock Cemetery, Scotland County, Missouri.
