John was an avid hunter, fisherman, mushroom hunter and vegetable gardener. He enjoyed his time outdoors and traveling with his family and friends. John was a member of the Masonic Order. He loved to cook, especially chicken and dumplings.
John is survived by his wife, Deborah J. Thomas; his children, Kelley L. (Michael) Kettlehake, and Aaron C. (Kimberly) Thomas; his grandchildren, Tylor (Ariel) Nye Sr., Gina Nye, Ashlin Thomas, Madison Crocker, and Taylor Bisping-Kettlehake; and his great-grandsons, Tylor Nye, Jr., Owen Nye, and Killian Nye; and his sister, Vanessa Thomas. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maidene Thomas; his father, Olen C. Thomas; and his siblings, Olen "Bud" (Lori) Thomas, and Carol D. Helton.
A Masonic service will take place at 12:30 pm with a visitation to follow until 2:30 pm, all on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
