Fond du Lac Reporter, Mon. June 17, 1991, p. 8B:1. Mrs. Helen R. (Abler) Balow, 58, of Detroit MI, died Wed. June 12, 1991, at St. John's Hospital in Detroit. She was born July 6, 1932, in Mt. Calvary, a daughter of Stephen and Rosa Krones Abler. On Nov. 19, 1960, she married Cliff Balow of Michigan. Mrs. Balow served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1961. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Danny and Erick; three grandchildren; two brothers Othmar Abler and his wife Charlotte of Mt. Calvary, and Adolph Abler and his wife Gladys of Fond du Lac; and five sisters, Laurinda Davis and her husband William of Desert Hot Springs CA, Glendola Young of Covelo CA, Irene Steffes of Los Angeles, Viola Wrensch of Fond du Lac, and Alma Schmitz and her husband John of Marytown. Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
