Stella Bjerke was born Oct. 7, 1904, in Lind Township, near Northwood, the daughter of Syver and Ingeborg Bjerke. She attended Lind District School No. 99 and Mayville (N.D.) State Teachers College. She then taught school in Lind Township for a short time. She married Ingvald Maurseth Oct. 24, 1927, in Northwood, and they farmed in Lind Township until retiring in 1970. Ingvald Maurseth died in 1978.

She is survived by a son, Myron, Oceanside, Calif.; and grandchildren, Michelle and Maria, and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brianna and Aaron, all of California.
She was preceded in death by daughters, Ilah and Sylvia Mae.
