Deborah (Johns) Herman, 71, passed away with her family by her side on June 24, 2022. She is now Free and reunited with the love of her life and husband, the late John Herman, whom she had spent more than 20 years before his death on April 13, 2009.

Born October 19, 1950, she was daughter of the late Crawford T. Johns and Betty (Lowans) Johns.
Deb was a graduate of James Buchanan High School with the class of 1968. She had different jobs throughout her life. The one she was most proud of and that was her favorite was being a mom and a grandmother. Others that she loved and was very proud of included being the first woman to ever manage an Elks Club and the childcare she ran from her home for several years. Eventually retiring from Walmart in 2012.

She loved spending time with her family, collecting Gems (if you know, you know), reading, writing letters, birthday celebrations, going out to eat and most recently, bowling with her siblings.

She was strong willed and stubborn, a force to be reckon with, yet kind and gentle. She loved hard and she loved deeply. She was a steadfast, devoted, loving mom. The best listener and the wisest at giving life advice. From a long phone conversation in the middle of the night to the kitchen table sit down, she always knew exactly what to say or do. Deb is and will be eternally missed by her daughters, grandchildren, siblings, family, and friends.

Deb's legacy she leaves behind, Angie Bard, Daughter, Shippensburg PA, Wendy Bard, Daughter, Dodie Moats (partner to Wendy), both of Waynesboro, 2 Grandsons, Jonathan Fabian, with Jennifer Adams (partner to Jonathan), Braden Fabian, Shippensburg PA and 1 Granddaughter, Layken Barrows, Waynesboro. 2 Great Grandchildren, Oliver Fabian and Flynn Fabian (due in December).

The Best brothers, Darwin "Lucky" and Cris Johns (spouse to Darwin), and Tony Johns. Her beloved sister's, Bonnie Rhone and Bobby Rhone (husband to Bonnie) and Linda Lehman. She loved celebrating Birthday and gift exchanges with you all!

Deb's wishes were not to mourn her death but wanted family and friends to celebrate her life. Please join us for a Life Celebration at Chris's Country Kitchen, 1329 LWE Chambersburg, PA on Saturday July 30, 2022, between 3-5 PM. Be sure to bring your favorite memory or picture to share.
