Mr. James "Jim" Garris McDonald, 78, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

He was born July 27, 1943, in Richmond County, the son of the late Willie Grafton and Sallie Lee McDonald.

Mr. McDonald served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Grafton McDonald and Sallie Lee McDonald; brothers, W.C. McDonald and John W. McDonald; and sister, Hattie McDonald Bates.

Left to cherish his memories are his siblings, Charlie G. McDonald and Darlene D. McDonald, both of Hamlet, Brenda McDonald Clifton of Rockingham, and Linda McDonald Overton of Vass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The time of visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Harrington Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside memorial service will follow the visitation at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Harrington Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the McDonald family.
