Confederate Civil War veteran. He served in Company D of the 3rd Battalion of Mississippi Infantry which served under General John Bell Hood. After the war he came west and farmed and ran a lumber business in Goldson, Oregon. He made his peace with his former enemies and was invited to the 1916 Oregon G.A.R. encampment. He was survived by his wife Mary Jane.
This grave was unmarked until 2008 when a headstone was obtained and set by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
