Florence Reihe, age 89, a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake, SD, passed away on March 10, 1982 at the Deuel County Memorial hospital in Clear Lake.
She was born January 22, 1893 at Ely, MN, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sage. She grew up in Northern Minnesota and she lived in several foster homes in the Duluth area as a young girl. She married Emil Reihe December 3, 1916 at Marietta, MN. They lived on a farm north of Gary until 1932 when they moved into Gary. She continued to make her home in Gary until 1976 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Clear lake. Her husband passed away in August of 1954.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Erna) Hundertmark, Mrs. Ardis Battles of Clear Lake, Mrs. Lois Messerschmidt and Mrs. Robert (Deloris) Ward, both of Watertown. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held on March 13, 1982 at 2 pm from the United Methodist Church in Gary with Rev. Ralph Dunn officiating. Casket bearers were James Hundertmark, Carl Arndt, Larry Messerchmidt, Randy, Rick and Rocky Ward.
