Mrs. Sarah Hahn Montgomery, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Hahn, was born in Yount, September 2, 1856, and departed this life at five o'clock Thursday morning, September 12, 1935, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. M. Mabery of Bonne Terre. She was 79 years 10 days of age.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Flat River, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. W. Keisker.

Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Benham Undertaking Company.

In 1875 she was united in marriage to Joshua Montgomery and they became the parents of 13 children, two of whom are deceased.

She is survived by her husband, four sons, John of Flat River; William of Esther; Everett and Harvey of Gofftown, and seven daughters, Sophia (Mrs. S. D.) Dennis of Fredericktown, Alice (Mrs. A. M.) Mabery of Bonne Terre; Emma (Mrs. E. D.) Dalton of Flat River; Iva (Mrs. L. M.) McFarland of Detroit; Eva (Mrs. N.) Wilfong of St. Louis; Maude (Mrs. M. G.) Gallagher and Mrs. Effie Whitehead of Flat River.

She also leaves 38 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Rosie Craig of Jackson, Mo.

The greater portion of her life was spent near the place of her birth and she came to Gofftown 15 years ago.

For the past five years, she has resided in Bonne Terre.
