Blanche Jeanette Swasey VanderWerff, age 85, passed away on June 27, 1996 in Orem, Utah.
Born August 24, 1910 in Mona, Utah, daughter of Lucius Nelsen and Mary Jeanette Brotherson Swasey. Married Dowie Johannes VanderWerff on January 19, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Member of the LDS Church. She was a primary teacher, spiritual living teacher, temple ordinance worker, and visiting teacher. She went on four mission. She fostered nineteen children over the years.
Survived by one son and one daughter, Sandra (Joseph) Harper; Dowie (Debbie) VanderWerff; step-children, Pauline (Allen) Ricks; Wilma Wells; Dowena (Floyd) Devey; Betty (Richard) James; John (Jutta) VanderWerff; Mary Anne (Ron McKeeth; daughter-in-law, Kathy VanderWerff; thirteen grandchildren; thirty six step-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Joseph Hale Swasey, Sherman Martin Swasey, Loretta Burton, and Hannah Oman. Preceded in death by husband; stepson, Fred; brothers and sisters, "R.", Napeier, Ruth, and Henrietta.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at Orem Suncrest 6th Ward. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
