William L. Anderson, Sr., "Bill", 72, of Coatesville, PA, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Edward Benjamin Anderson, Sr. and Rose Alston Anderson. Bill was the beloved husband of Berniece Floyd Anderson with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

He was educated in the Coatesville Area Public Schools graduating from S. Horace Scott Senior High School in 1967.

A veteran, Bill was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He served over three years until he was honorably discharged in 1973. He was employed at the former Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville until he retired in 2012.

While growing up in Coatesville, Bill attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. In 2012 he rededicated his life to the Lord. Bill was a member of Christian Faith Fellowship in Downingtown, PA. where he faithfully served as a Deacon, and a care cell leader. Over the years, Bill also served as the church facilities manager, grounds keeper, van driver and was a member of the men's ministry fellowship.

Bill enjoyed playing golf, traveling and listening to music by Isaac Hayes, Whitney Houston and Diana Ross. He also enjoyed listening to Jazz Gospel as well. Most of all, he enjoyed taking care of the church and being with his family.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Berniece Anderson; daughter, Letitia Forney of Texas; sons, William "Bill" Anderson, Jr. (Melissa), Aaron Anderson (Jewel Burgess); grandchildren: Jazlyn M. Anderson of Coatesville, Sgt. Paul Forney (Kristen) stationed at US Army base Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Cpl. Benjamin Forney (Spc. Laresha) stationed at U.S. Army base Fort Carson near Colorado Springs, William Trey Anderson, III, Aniya Anderson both of Coatesville; 4 great-grandchildren: Anna Lisa, Aries, Amaya, and Layla; brothers, James A. "Hook" Anderson of Pottsville, Terry Anderson of Coatesville; sisters, Della Mae Smith, Rose Lopp, and Julia Perry all of Coatesville; father-in-law, Elder Sam Floyd of Little Rock, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Melvin Floyd (Carolyn), Tranny P. Arnold III and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and beloved friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Edward B. Anderson, Jr., Samuel Anderson; one sister, Shirley L. Thomas; mother-in-law, Bertha Floyd Tucker, sister-in-law, Virginia Arnold, brother-in-law, Calvin Floyd, Sr. and son-in-law, Paul Forney, Sr.

Homegoing Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Second Baptist Worship Center, 857 Lumber Street, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

Bill's remains will be entombed with military honors in Rolling Green Memorial Park in West Chester, PA.
