Dorothy Shifflett Gibson, 90, of Boonesville, Va, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 20, 1932, in Albemarle County, and was the daughter to the late William S. Shifflett and Edith M. Shifflett.
Dorothy worked at Morton Frozen Foods in Crozet for 30+ years until she retired. She loved to play cards, cook, listen to bluegrass music and spend time with her family and friends. Dorothy was loved by so many and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Merrill Millard Gibson on November 8, 1996. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, William Shifflett, Joseph Shifflett, and James Shifflett, two sisters, Irene S. McRay and Alberta Gurley.
Dorothy is survived by her son, David W. Gibson of Free Union; one sister Anna Lee Wood of Free Union and a host of nieces and nephews. A very special nephew Wade Walton who was like a second son to her.
