Betty Jo Garrett, age 87, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Mark Twain Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was born June 22, 1935 in Piedmont, the daughter of John Barrett and Emma (Lunyou) Barrett.
A lifelong resident of Piedmont, Betty was of the Baptist Faith. She was married to Clorel Garrett December 18, 1954 in Patterson and he passed away July 4, 2010. Also preceding her in death are her parents, John and Emma Barrett, 1 infant son, Alan Wayne Garrett, 6 brothers, Willard, Kenneth, Lee, William, Delmo and Ronald Barrett, and 1 sister, Virginia DeSha.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Clorla Jo Montgomery and her husband Craig, of St. Clair, MO, Angela Beth Helle, of Nashville, TN, 1 brother, Carl Barrett, of Piedmont and 1 sister, Barbara Brown, of St. Louis.
In addition, she is survived by 2 grand daughters, Sommer Garrett, of Columbia, SC, Emily Montgomery, of Springfield, MO, several nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, July 23rd at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 24th at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
Memorials have been requested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
