Obit: Morris B. Shanks, 51, formerly of Frankfort, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 1973, at Oak Park Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. He had been ill for one year.

Born September 29, 1921, in Clinton County, Indiana, he was the son of Dale and Elsie (Biery) Shanks of Frankfort, Indiana, who survive. He was married to Ruby Fuller of Chicago, Illinois, and she also survives.

Mr. Shanks was a 1939 graduate of Frankfort High School and a 1946 graduate of Wabash College. A veteran of World War II, he served with the famed "Lightning Division" and won the Purple Heart after he was wounded at the Remagan Bridge on the German border.

He lived in Forest Park, Illinois, and was manager of the sales office of Northwest Paper Co., Palatine, Illinois.

Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Mary Emma) Wright of Frankfort, Indiana, and a nephew, Jerry Wright of Huntington, Indiana.
