Alvin Barnabus Copeland, 85, former schoolteacher and longtime Erath County resident, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Stephenville Hospital.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Huckabay Church of Christ, Doug LeCroy minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Huckabay Cemetery under direction of the Stephenville Funeral Home.
Born April 1, 1882, in Huckabay, he lived most of his life in Erath County. He married Sallye M. Mason in 1918. He was a former schoolteacher and a dairyman since 1944.
Survivors include his wife, one son,A.B
Copeland Jr. and wife Mary of Huckabay; two daughters: Robbie. Carter and husband Pete of Huckabay ; and Twala Hale and husband Malcolm of Indiana; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Harris of Abilene; 9 grandchildren.
