Corena Davis Russell, of Granite Falls, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 10, 2022 on her 84th birthday at Carolina Caring of Newton. Born on July 10, 1938 in Unaka, NC, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Josephine Allen Davis.
She was a 1956 graduate of Hiawassee Dam High School, Cherokee County, NC. Corena loved flowers and enjoyed painting, sewing and spending time at Harrah's Casino. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Russell; 2 sisters, Linna Edwards and Shirley Buff; a brother, Don Davis.
Those left to cherish her memory include, two sons; a daughter; and a sister. Also left to carry on Grandma Russell's kindness are her four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; three bonus grandchildren.
