FREEBURN, Ky. — Ada Mapes, 67, of Freeburn, Ky., died Friday, June 12, 1987 at 10 p.m. at her residence following an apparent heart attack.
A member of the Free Pentecostal Church, she was born March 28, 1920, in Argo, Ky., a daughter of the late Aaron and Laura (Dotson) Blankenship.
Survivors include her husband, Ira Mapes of Freeburn; five sons, Danny, Randy, Robert, and Billy, all of Freeburn and Ira Jr., of Phelps; five daughters, Mrs. Penny Hager and Mrs. Ellen Charles, both of Phelps, Mrs. Bonnie Harris and Mrs. Anita Hurley, both of Freeburn, Mrs. Susie Grossl of Van Lear, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leota Mastro of Poway, Calif.; two brothers, Sid Blankenship of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Aaron Blankenship of Argo, Ky.; four sisters, Mrs. Freedie Blankenship, Mrs. Minda Blankenship and Mrs. Geneva Blankenship, all of Bucyrus and Mrs. Joann Dotson of Stanford, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 15, 1987 at 1 p.m. at the Freeburn Free Pentecostal Church with Revs. Darius Casey, Opie Harris and DeWitt Furrow.
Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky.
Friends may call anytime after 6 p.m. at the church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chambers Funeral Home of Matewan.
