Joyce Kay Moffett King, age 67, passed away at home beside her beloved husband, Don King, on July 8, 2022, after a valiant effort to overcome stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Joyce was born on August 18, 1954, to James Edwin Moffett and Edna Opal Kellum Moffett in Crockett and graduated from Grapeland High School. Joyce moved to Pasadena where she began a 38 year career working at the OCAW/United Steel Union Hall. It was there Joyce met and later married Don King on July 21, 1986. She and Don enjoyed touring many states and Canada on Don's motorcycle and raising Joyce's son, Shane. After Don's retirement, Joyce retired and they moved to Lindale, in 2018. They enjoyed living in the retirement community for seniors and took advantage of the many activities and made many friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by parents, Ed and Edna Moffett; son, Shane Carter; sister, Wanda Bates; and half-sister, Jean Coker.
