John was born to Maurice Guy and Cleta Graham Dahl on December 26, 1952 in Blackfoot, Idaho. John graduated from Olympus High in 1971, and then worked a variety of jobs. His most satisfying job was with Hercules as an aerospace technician. John married Toni Baxter in 1980 and they later divorced. They remained close friends.
John loved the outdoors, especially fishing at Strawberry Reservoir and camping. He was an avid reader. He and Toni had two dogs that he cared for very deeply: Einstein and Benny. John was a kind and wonderful neighbor, and regularly helped others in the neighborhood.
John's parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his brothers James and David (Marty), and by Toni Baxter, all of whom live in the Salt Lake City area.
A funeral service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial at 2 pm on Friday, December 28, 2007. Friends and family may gather half an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to the Humane Society of Utah. John's survivors would like to thank the doctors and staff in the acute trauma unit of the Intermountain Medical Center, who assisted John in his last days.
