Betty Jane Barry, 86, of Watertown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Thomas Marr officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Watertown.

Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of the Mass.

Memorials may be directed to Stout University or St. Bernard's Catholic Church.

The Hafemeister Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jane was born in Racine on Oct. 15, 1921, daughter of Richard and Marion (Asby) Larsen. On Jan. 22, 1946, she married David P. Barry at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Racine.

Betty Jane was a graduate of Stout University. She taught for many years in Watertown and Joliet, Ill. She was a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), a lifetime member of the Watertown Elks Lodge and a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown.

Betty Jane is survived by her children, Suzanne (Tim Cullinane) Barry of Oak Park, Ill., Sandra Eckhaus of Westmont, Ill., and Michael (Jody Welch) Barry of Delavan; grandchildren, Kirsten (Bart), Jill, Barry, Bridget, Katie, Kevin; and a great-granddaughter, Megan.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, David Barry; a daughter, Sally Barry; a sister and two brothers.

Betty Jane was the last member of her immediate family.
