Pauline Lucille Gilbert, 84, formerly of West Decatur Street, Eaton, died Wednesday, July 29, at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Ind., after an extended illness. Born Nov. 2, 1913, near Gettysburg (Preble County), she was the daughter of the late Ora E. and Jesse Grace (Marshall) Trace. She retired from Corning Glass in Greenville, and was a member of the Corning Employees Retirement Club. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Order of Eastern Star at Ansonia and the First Presbyterian Church of Eaton; and a former member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and Methodist Church in New Weston, Ohio.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Glenn Gilbert; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Alden and Rose Gilbert of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Ron Miller of Elkhart, Ind.; three grandchildren, Tara Allison and Trace William Gilbert, and David Gilbert Miller.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Trace, Mary Hawley and Velma Spencer; and a brother, Scott Trace.

Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 3, at the First Presbyterian Church, Eaton, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
