PLAINVIEW - LaVerne Thomas, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Oklahoma. She grew up in Pampa and attended schools in Pampa and Kress, where she graduated from high school.
She married C.W. Rousser in 1940. They farmed west of Kress.
In 1965 she moved to Plainview. She married Thurmon Thomas in 1970. He died in 1995.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of First Baptist Church, Louise Harper's Sunday school class, the Order of the Eastern Star, Plainview County Club Ladies Golf Association and the Plainview Duplicate Bridge Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Terri Fargason of Frisco; a son, Wes Rousser of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Evelyn Anselevicius of Albuquerque, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Jeanie Buchanan of Plainview and Marsha Thompson of Copper Canyon; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
