~ ~ MY WONDERFUL GRANDFATHER ~ ~

William Franklin Dillinger was the son
of Stephen Dillinger and Judith 'Melton'
Dillinger.

He was born in Indian Territory.

Frank Dillinger was the husband of Amanda
"King" Dillinger. They were married in
Oklahoma by Rev. Robert Houston Long.
(Their daughter Jessie Leona, later met
and married Rev. Robert's grandson, Ray
A. Long)

The couple celebrated their 60 wedding anv.
before he died.
He was a farmer & water well driller before
moving into town, Afton, Oklahoma.
Frank was a member of the First Baptist Church,
Afton.
Papa owned his own drilling equipment and
drilled many of the water wells in the
area.

He was the father of 7 children in order:
Opal
Jessie
Lela
Wilber
Leslie
twin daughters, Nola & Ola

He was fondly called Papa by his loving
family.
Papa would always have a stick of Juicy
Fruit Gum to give us grandkids, and always
had a hello and hug for us. Before they
moved into town, it was always fun to go
out and visit them on the farm. It was a
real treat to ride in the back of the pick-
up and help him feed the cows. He raised
cows, chickens, and pigs on his farm. They
always had a huge garden and a big apple
orchard. He also had an old mule named
Jake, we would ride him and chase him
all over the pasture.
Papa and Bitty Ma would always
come to town on Saturdays to shop. We
would meet them and visit in the back of
the Williams grocery store by the big pot
belly stove when it was cold. Lot's of
wonderful memories which will all be
cherished for the rest of my life.
After they moved into town, we visited
daily, I loved having them close. We would
walk down to their house and then we would
all walk over to the First Baptist church on
Sundays.
He loved his red pickup and in the mornings
when it was cold, we could hear him reving
it up all the way down the block and then
off he would go.
He was a well respected man, loved by his
friends and family.

I want to thank Pixie for sponsoring
my grandparents memorial pages. Your
a very special friend, may God bless
you always.
