Jeannette A. Thompson (Nette) joined her family in heaven October 6, 2020. Nette was born Sept. 4, 1957 to Virgin L. and Edward J. Thompson in New Orleans, La. She was baptized as a child of God at Salem Lutheran Church and attended Westbank ARC in Gretna, LA. Nette was a loving, strong willed lady who loved Jesus, good food, the New Orleans Saints, music, family and friends. In 1972, after her father's death, Nette's family expanded when she joined Alexander Milne Home for Girls in New Orleans. When Katrina destroyed their home, the girls moved to Laurel, MS until their new home was constructed in Covington, LA in 2015. Nette's family at Milne was loving, gracious and provided her with continuous care and support. Her family is especially grateful for the enrichment and adventures Nette enjoyed with Milne like shopping trips, Mardi Gras Balls and parades, church activities and a most memorable trip to a New Orleans Saints game at the Dome. Nette's family is sincerely thankful for each and every past and present Milne staff person that so richly blessed Nette during her 48 years of residency. Nette is preceded in death by her parents Virgin and Edward Thompson, her two brothers Dan Bauman (Judy) and Robbie Bauman (Betsy). She is survived by her sister Ginger Brewer (Bill) and a multitude of family and friends who along with the Milne family will miss her.
