Vernon Services Set For Friday
Final services for Edgar L. Vernon, 75, of 509 North State Street will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Milligan Springs Baptist Church near Winona, with the Rev. W.W. Herrin, pastor, officiating. He died suddenly at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday at his residence. His body will be at the church for one hour before the service.

He was a native of Stewart and had lived in Jackson for the past 16 years. He was a retired sawmill inspector and was formerly associated with Sumner Lumber Company of Stewart and the Cox Lumber Company of Fannin. He was a Mason and a Baptist.

His survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Stanley Sexton of Marietta, Ga., Mrs. Vernon Woolwright of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Ray Knepper of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. Effie Neely, Mrs. Ota Wilson, both of Hollandale, Mrs. Eulah Griffith of Stewart, and Mrs. Allye Jones of New Orleans, La.; one brother, Claude E Vernon of Stewart; two nieces, Mrs. T.B. Carroll and Mrs. I.J. Mobley, both of Jackson; and six grandchildren.

Interment will be made in the Milligan Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Edgar married Eula E Ingram but they were divorced. She died in 1966 in Palm Beach, Florida.
