James R. Evans, Sr.
January 27, 1941 ~ June 28, 2022 (age 81)

James R. Evans, Sr., 81, of West Bradford, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

He was the beloved husband of Marie Bartelmo Evans, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Linwood, Delaware County, Jim was the son of the late Evan and Agnes Gerdes Evans.

After completing the 10th grade, he was accepted at Williamson Trade School where he completed his high school education and training in Carpentry. He graduated 1960.

Jim proudly served as a U.S. Marine for 6 years in the Reserves.

Before his retirement, Jim worked as a Carpenter for the United Carpenters Union for 39 years.

He enjoyed woodworking, especially making toys for his grandchildren, reading about history, spending time with his family, traveling and reading his bible.

He was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Calvary Chapel of Chester Springs.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Evans is survived by three daughters Eileen Evans, Sandy Evans Lavin, Mari Evans Furlong, and two sons, James R. Evans, Jr. and Michael Evans as well as eleven grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Calvary Chapel Chester Springs, 217 Dowlin Forge Rd, Exton, PA, where family and friends will be received from 9:45 am until 10:45 am. Interment will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, 1235 Birmingham Rd, West Chester, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Gift of Life Family House
