Joe Wells was my grandfather. He was a very special man. His first wife was Kizzie Sharp (Apr 26, 1886-July 2, 1919. They were married May 18, 1902. Their children were Augusta, Archie Ven, Alonzo and one daughter, Grace. Three children died young. They were Walter, Silas and the other one's name unknown. His next wife was my grandmother. Her name was Birdie Housley (Jan 26, 1900-Oct 17, 1946). They were married Feb 28, 1920. Their children were Ruby, R. L., James Mac, Floyd Hugh, Anna Mae, Everett, Roy and Troy. Two sons Joe and Willie died young. They also lost a little girl, Mency Jane. My grandfather was a mill owner and logger. I've always been told that he knew everything there was to know about horses and mules. He always told us that he wanted to live to be 95 years old and then he'd be ready to die. A few weeks after he turned 95, he passed away. I loved and admired him greatly. He was a wonderful grandfather.
