Ruth E. Arnold, 79, of Slocum, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Slocum, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle (Fairchild) Balliet. She was a member of Faith United methodist Church, Slocum, Mountain Top Senior Citizens, and a charter member of Slocum Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7918 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; and brother, Olin Balliet.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen Fisher, Mountain Top; son, Glenn, with whom she lived; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Leslie Halchak officiating. Interment will be in Slocum Cemetery.
There will not be calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
