Zane Derek Clayton, 23, of Mount Airy, died Sunday, September 12, 2004, at Walkersville, Maryland.
Born November 27, 1980, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C. he is the son of Zane Shephard Clayton & Dorothy Marie Lewis Clayton of Mount Airy.
He was a 1998 graduate of South Carroll High School and a member of the National Honor Society. He received a degree in Emergency Health Services from the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus.
He was an employee of the Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services. He was a lieutenant with the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department, where he was as a firefighter and paramedic:.
Currently he was also employed in the Cardiac Department at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville.
Surviving besides his parents is a sister Carly Clayton also of Mount Airy and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Olin L. Molesworth P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road in Damascus. Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department will conduct memorial services at the funeral home at
8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17 at Hyattstown United Methodist Church, 26l21 Frederick Road, Hyattstown. Reverend Joe Duke, pastor of Carroll Community Church will officiate. Internment will be in
Hyattstown Methodist Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department, 702 North Main Street. Mount Airy, MD 2177l, Attention: Jim Linton.
