William Neil Parker passed away at his home on Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Peoria Heights, IL.

Bill was born December 26, 1932, in Huntington, WV to Carlos and Frances (Van Valkenburgh) Parker. He grew up in Roanoke, VA with his 7 brothers and sisters.

He joined the Marine Corp in 1951 and served in Korea and Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1955.

Bill came to Peoria for a brief stint at Caterpillar and found more fulfilling work first at Kroger, the Peoria Journal Star and then in the insurance industry. He was an agent for Nationwide and then enjoyed a 40-year award-winning career as agent for Country Companies in Hanna City.

He is survived by Sylvia Nath, with whom he shared his life. Also surviving is his son Steven; daughter Julie (Tony) Carr; his brother Jim (Maxine) of Westminster, MD and sister Marian Belanger of Roanoke, VA.

He is predeceased by his parents, his son Will, his former wife Janet, brothers Carlos Jr. and George and sisters Betsy, Peg, and Sue.

The burial of ashes will be at a later date at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo.
