BADGLEY
Lily Bell Cumpstone (known to us all as Lil) was born to William and Ethel Cumpstone on April 3, 1926. She grew up on the family farm in Biggar, SK with her parents and two older brothers Bruce and Edward (whom she adored) until as a young woman she moved to Saskatoon and began her life as an adult. It was while working there that she began correspondence with a young farmer from Kinistino, SK who would soon become the love of her life, and in 1957 she married George Badgley and moved to the farm north of Kinistino. Together they farmed and raised a family in this area until her passing, shortly after George on Feb. 11, 2010. George and Lily had two daughters: Marian Hazel who lives in Camrose, Alberta with her children Jim (in Edmonton) and Julie; and Ethel Doreen who lives in Kinistino with husband Blaine and children Kevin, Andrew and Breanna. Lil is predeceased by husband George, two sons: Hughie and Bruce, and two daughters: Helen and Nancy. She is also predeceased by her parents and her brothers: Bruce and Ed. Lil was the champion of all things small or disadvantaged. From sick puppies, calves, or critters to handicapped children or the many charities she gave to, she was ever the helper and cheerleader. Her hugs were always in earnest. Funeral service was held Saturday, Feb 27, 2010 at 3:30 p. m. from St. Andrews United Church, Kinistino, SK with Major Michael Hoeft officiating. Honorary pallbearers were All of Lillians Family & Friends. Active pallbearers were her grandchildren Jim Powell, Julie Powell, Kevin Tetz, Andrew Tetz and Breanna Tetz. Special memories were shared by Ethel and Blaine Tetz. Interment followed at Norden Lutheran Cemetery.
